SPECTRE

This weekend I packaged over 30 advanced reader copies of Laurence A. Rickels' SPECTRE, a schizoanalysis of the James Bond oeuvre, to send out for review in journals and magazines. SPECTRE is the second publication from Anti-Oedipus Press and will be available in hardcover, paperback and ebook formats. Here is a press release. If you are interested in reviewing the book (in a professionally published venue or just Amazon, Goodreads, a blog, etc.), please contact me via Facebook or email. Thanks.

Directeur

My story "Directeur" appears in the latest issue of Backlit, edited by artist, musician and writer Brandon Duncan a.k.a. Expiring Sun, who has done a dynamite job designing and stylizing the layout for the story. In the past, BD and I have worked on a number of projects together, most notably The Cocktail Party, a short, rotoscoped, award-winning film directed by BD and written by me. Here it is in its entirety if you missed it:

Hawgstrüffel

Here's one of the readings I did at DogCon this year at the Cafe Kerouac in Columbus, Ohio. The cafe had great beer and a whiskey tasting event, and out of eight or so authors, I went last. Hence my reading is not as smooth as I would have it at times ...

Extrapolation Call for Reviewers

The following titles are currently available for review in Extrapolation. If you are interested in one of them, contact me at david.wilson@wright.edu and I will do my best to accommodate your request. As I've mentioned in the past, books tend to get snatched up quickly, so the sooner you contact me, the better. If we haven't worked together before, please include a brief description of your scholarly interests, publications, etc. Thanks.

Fredriksen. Men into Space.

Invective

My story "Invective" appears in issue 12 of The Surreal Grotesque. This piece will eventually appear in my upcoming fiction collection Battle without Honor or Humanity. It's extrapolated from extensive, ornery feedback I received from an anonymous peer reviewer regarding my critical essay on the film Transformers, "Technomasculine Bodies & Vehicles of Desire: The Erotic Delirium of Michael Bay's Transformers," which was published recently in the academic journal Extrapolation.
