Death Metal Epic

Today I received a copy of the latest release from Atlatl Press, Dean Swinford's Death Metal Epic I: The Inverted Katabasis, which I blurbed like so:

"Dean Swinford’s debut novel stands tall and transcendent as a bold new voice of irrealism and the contemporary avant-garde. Intelligent and playful, he educates with one hand while he waxes hysterical with the other."

This is Swinford's first novel, although I first read something by him long ago, an article in one of my favorite magazines, The Cafe Irreal: "Defining Irrealism: Scientific Development and Allegorical Possibility."

Death Metal Epic I will be published in June. Atlatl Press is also the publisher of my fiction collection They Had Goat Heads.
